Whether it's dusk or dawn
The jasmine stays white
For 20 years, the Aegina Music Festival has been a constant point of reference for fans of classical and contemporary music.
With more than 150 concerts and the participation of 570 musicians from Greece and abroad, it has established itself as one of the most important institutions that have left their imprint on the cultural map of the country.
Chamber music, singing and classical music recitals are presented in three venues that are inextricably linked to the Festival's character: the Courtyard of the Church of the Saviour, the beach of Aura and the Small Theatre "I. Molfesi" in Pachiorachi.
The programme bears, as every year, the quality signature of Dora Bakopoulou and Elena Hounta.
This year we celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Festival, with feelings of deep gratitude, emotion and indescribable joy!
The Dora's dream which eventually became an institution. Concert venues were invented in Aegina even in places that no one expected. Chamber music came along and everyone embraced it. Evenings of classical singing under the moonlight were organized. Artists and audiences joined their voices at the Greek song nights in Aura. Jazz came, tango came, and the sound of the waves came along with the music.
And everyone loved the Festival. Our partners, who have been giving their best for 20 years. The artists who always want to come back and give us some more of the magic of music. But most of all, the friends, who are always here to share and relive the unique energy of music nights.
We have always been guided by the excellent quality of the artists and the repertoire. Great performers, iconic works and unique collaborations have made the Festival soar.
Thank you for the enthusiasm, support and strength that our friends of the festival, our sponsors, our partners and the wonderful audience of Aegina give us. Many thanks to the Ministry of Culture, to Father Nikolaos, to the Municipality of Aegina, to the Ephorate of Antiquities of Piraeus and the Islands, to "Aiakeion" and to all the people of Aegina who trust us, care, love the Festival and express it in the most touching way.
We thank the pianist Poppy Malapanis, who from 2021 onwards offers to the Festival her excellent organizational talent!
We are waiting for you in our special musical summer, from August 2 to 24, with a rich program characterized by exciting collaborations and new ideas.
