Places

Music in magical places.

The concerts of the festival are hosted in special venues on the island

Pachia Rachi

Small Theatre of Jason Molfesis

The Little Theatre of Jason Molfesis is located in the settlement of Pachiorachi, southwest of Aegina.

It was born out of a question: "Why don't we turn the garden threshing floor into a theatre?"

The question was asked by Jason Molfesis, one of the most pioneering artists of his generation, fascinated by the technology and aesthetics of the computer, which he transferred to his paintings and reliefs.

The idea of making the threshing floor a stage was not just practical: it was deeply poetic.

And it came true when the stone amphitheatre was built in the garden of the sculptor Venia Dimitrakopoulou and Michael Seegy, which since 2005 has been hosting concerts of the Aegina International Music Festival.
This is where some of the most atmospheric nights of the festival begin.

The beach of Aura

In the shadow of Colona

The beach of Aura is located just a few meters from the Archaeological Site of Kolona.

Here, the foundations of the ancient port of Aegina can still be seen in the sea. The remains of the Temple of Apollo are illuminated by the sunset, while the hill of Kolona is an ideal backdrop for melodies spreading over the water.

Aura is not just a venue of the Aegina International Music Festival. It is a place where the present and the past converse, with music being the eternal link.

Kapodistrian Orphanage

Church of the Saviour

The Church of the Transfiguration is a small stone church, hidden behind the old Orphanage of Aegina.

In 1828, Ioannis Kapodistrias laid the foundation stone, when everything was being built from scratch.

Today, almost two centuries later, music returns to this chapel. It subtly honors and highlights the history of the place with light, voices and sounds that emerge almost in a whisper, offering a different experience to festival devotees.
